Installing SuperLock 4.0 Lite
Since you're reading this documentation, you've already run the installer and gotten SuperLock Lite installed. There are, however, a couple of further actions you should take to help SuperLock provide the maximum protection that it can for your Mac. These are:
- Remove the file titled EM Extension from your Extensions folder. This extension allows you to bring up the Extensions Manager window during startup by holding down the space bar, thus creating an easy opportunity to disable SuperLock Lite. Removing this extension will not affect the Extensions Manager control panel in any way. If you use a third-party extension manager such as Conflict Catcher®, please see the documentation accompanying the product for instructions either on how to prevent bringing it up during startup, or how to add SuperLock Lite to a list of items that must be loaded.
- If you have a low-level debugger installed, remove it. If you don't know what a low-level debugger is, then it's not something you need to worry about (it's a programmer's tool that you have to specifically install).
- Remove any startup CDs or floppies that you have in the vicinity of your Mac. SuperLock Lite cannot protect against their use.
- If feasible, physically secure the Mac by locking and/or removing the CD/DVD drive and/or floppy drive.
