Registering SuperLock Pro

Why Register?

The most important reason for registering is because it is the Right Thing to do. We at TriVectus are making our livings from shareware, so when people don't register, they're taking money out of our pockets and food off our tables. If you use our shareware, you are morally bound to pay for it. Registering also provides the needed funds for continued development. Remember, programmers of shareware don't get paid a cent while creating software; only when people register do we get paid.

Another reason to register is that you will be given a serial number which, when entered into SuperLock Pro, will fully enable all features and take away the annoying shareware reminders. Specifically:

  • The nag screen on startup will be removed from Admin.

  • The "***Unregistered copy***" notice will be removed from the main window in Admin.

  • The "***Unregistered copy***" notice will be removed from the main window in Client.

  • The unregistered version of SuperLock Pro Client can be quit by using cmd-opt-esc to force-quit it. The registered version removes this security risk.

  • When you register, your name will appear in the about box in Admin in place of the unregistered copy notice.

  • The unregistered version supports a maximum of three users, including the super-admin user. The registered version has no such limit.

  • The unregistered version does not support disabling the shift key, soft locking, or auto-activate on wake-up. The registered version supports all of these.

  • The unregistered version does not allow editing of the super-admin user, meaning that anyone who knows the default name and password of this user can log in. The registered version allows editing of this user.

  • The unregistered version of Client displays a nag dialog on quit. The registered version does not.

How to Register

There are a few methods available to you to register SuperLock Pro; choose the one that is most convenient:
  • Register on-line via a secure web page using a credit card. Visit <http://www.trivectus.com/>.

  • Use the bundled Register application to register via e-mail, fax, or snail-mail. This method allows you to use a credit card, check/money order, cash (in many currencies), or First Virtual.

  • Issue a purchase order. This option is only open to educational institutions; commercial entities can also use a PO, but we require payment before we issue serial numbers. For details, e-mail us at <info@trivectus.com>.

To use the Register application, double click on its icon in the Finder. Enter your complete name, e-mail address, and postal address in the top section. In the middle section, enter the quantity of single user licenses that you want, or select the corresponding check box for either a site or world-wide license (or any combination of the three). If you are feeling generous, or find that SuperLock Pro is indispensable to you (and under-priced), feel free to enter a bonus amount as well (we certainly encourage you to do so :-). The total will be computed and displayed in the bottom right above the buttons. In the bottom left section, select the method of payment from the menu and enter the requested information. A wide variety of currencies are accepted, but if you choose to pay by check, it must be drawn in U.S. dollars. This is because of the very high ($15 or more) conversion rate.

If you are concerned about entering your personal information, we encourage you to read our privacy statement.

If you want to pay via snail-mail or fax, click on the Print button to print out a registration form. For fax, you may also use the Print button to print directly to a fax modem (see your modem and fax software manuals for details). When paying via snail-mail or fax, make absolutely sure you enter the proper e-mail address, so that your serial number may be sent to you.

If you want to pay with a credit card or First Virtual, you may also register by e-mail. To do so, click on the Copy button to copy the registration information to the Clipboard, then paste the information into a message. Alternatively, use the Save button to save the information to a file, then send the file as an attachment (note that because the file is so small, you do not need to compress it).

E-mail registrations should be sent to:

When your registration is processed, you'll receive an e-mail acknowledgment as well as your assigned serial number. (Again, be sure you supply a valid e-mail address! If you are in doubt about your e-mail address, select the option to receive a postcard receipt so that a serial number can be sent to you via snail-mail).

If you have any questions about the registration process, you should look at Kagi's FAQ.
