Description
This article describes the changes made to FlightMath when it was updated from version 2.0 to version 2.1.
Details
FlightMath 2.1 includes the following fixes and changes:
- Added Weather pane to download current surface weather data
- Added conversion capabilities to unit menus (prefixed by ->)
- Updated icon and about images
- Updated Density Altitude pane
- All data is now entered via text fields
- Added new data fields to calculate density altitude with:
- Pressure (as measured by most stations, corrected for sea level), airport elevation, and humidity
- Density Altitude can be calculated if a combination of the following is known:
- Pressure (Altimeter), Airport Elevation, Temperature, Humidity
- Pressure (Altimeter), Airport Elevation, Temperature, Dew Point
- Pressure Altitude, Temperature, Humidity
- Pressure Altitude, Temperature, Dew Point
- Weather data can now be imported into the Density Altitude pane
- Added localization for decimal separators
- Corrected calculation error for Fuel pane when calculating fuel burn
- Corrected invisible text fields bug that occurred randomly in Course, Fuel and Speed panes
- Added lbs and Imperial Gallons to units in the Fuel pane
- Included explanation of estimation of weight of fuel in Fuel pane
- Main window resizes to fit the content of the pane
- Improved number formatter for text fields to handle localized numbers
- Updated documentation and help files to reflect changes and enhancements
- Tweaked images to prevent warnings in the Console app
- Improved how text fields handle blank data in Course pane
- New images for current/not current marker
- Updated URLs to reflect changes for our web site
Special note: Version 2.1 raises FlightMath's minimum system requirement from Mac OS X 10.0 to Mac OS X 10.1.
